June 22nd, 2009 A new Frequently asked questions section has been created on our web site.  Take a look!
June 22nd, 2009 Fuel prices have increased again, so Ahart is forced to start charging a fuel surcharge to all of its customers.  For more details, please ask any of our dispatch personnel.
June 4th, 2009 Fuel prices are beginning to rise.  Ahart was paying $4.00 a gallon for fuel, and is now paying $4.23 per gallon.  We will be forced to start a fuel surcharge if prices rise above this level.
May 14th, 2009 The Professional Pilot Cost sheet has been changed to reflect an administrative fee for all new professional pilot students (starting May 1st, 2009).  Existing students will not be affected.  This new administrative fee will be used to pay for management of Part-141 records as well as paying agents/brokers.
May 1st, 2009 N64204 and N90558 prices are changing a bit to reflect cost increases for both aircraft.  You can see details here.
March 9th, 2009 A Part-141 IFR Ground school is now being formed for March 19th.  Contact the front desk to sign up!
February 12th, 2009 N6165M is back on-Line!  During the engine break-in flight I did the evening of the 12th, I was getting anywhere from 85 - 92 knots true air speed.  A 3 and a half hour flight in a great plane!  We are planning on replacing the control panel and dash on the plane to make it look newer and more pleasing to look at and fly.
February 7th, 2009 N6165M is getting a new engine!  The engine in N6165M was close to it's overhaul hours so we have decided to install a new engine.  The engine should be installed and ready to go the week of the 8th.  Performance and reliability will be increased with this new engine installation.  Enjoy!
February 1st, 2009
  • A new cost sheet has been created showing the newly priced $500.00 ground school for our Part-141 students.  You can find it here.
  • A new section of this web page has been added documenting a number of our procedures.  Please take a look at it by clicking here.
January 31st, 2009 If you were accidentally overcharged for your apartment in 2008 or in January of 2009, your account will be credited no later than February 6th, 2009 for the difference.  The cost of your apartment and the lease will be made available to you by request.
January 30th, 2009 Private Pilot, Instrument Pilot and Commercial pilot Part-141 ground school prices drop to $500.00.  This is the 'group' ground school that is taken in our classroom setting.  Note:  If you are a current student at Ahart Aviation and you have already paid $1,000.00 for your Private Pilot ground school, we will let you take the Instrument ground school for free.
January 29th, 2009 The Professional Pilot program cost sheet has been changed to reflect the reduction in the cost of fuel here at Ahart.  Please click here to see more.  If fuel prices rise in the coming months, we may have to begin charging a fuel surcharge again - but you will be notified before that happens.
January 27th, 2009 Our Cessna 172P - N90558 is now only available for Private Pilots and above.  No student pilot's should be flying this aircraft as our IFR students and local pilots are not being given a chance to fly the aircraft.  Contact the office for more information or email Bill:  bill@ahart.com

Please contact the office if you have any questions about anything you read on this web site or email me (Bill) at bill@ahart.com.

Be safe flying!

Overview of some of the Procedures at Ahart Aviation Services - Safety first!

At Ahart Aviation Services, we pride ourselves on safe planes, safe pilots and courtesy/consideration to all of our customers.  To that end, we ask that our customers and students (all of them, not just our professional student pilots) abide by a number of some pretty common-sense procedures.

  • Please arrive on time for your flight or ground lesson.  By doing this, everyone benefits as schedules can be maintained and teaching continued without delays.

  • When flying, please return on time.  By doing this, you will be able to provide the next customer/student with the plane they have reserved.

  • When you reserve an aircraft, make sure you reserve it for a reasonable amount of time.  For private pilot, you normally will reserve the aircraft for 2 hours at a time unless you are flying on a cross country flight.  If you will be reserving an airplane for longer than 2 hours, please add comments to the reservation so we know why you are scheduling the aircraft for that amount of time.

  • You can reserve any airplane you are certified to fly in, but only once per day.  Please only reserve a 152 once a day or a 172 once a day (etc.).  On the day of your reservation however, you may reserve the same model airplane on that day only if an airplane is available.

  • If you have any questions about what you are being charged for, please don't be shy to let management know of the problem.  We will take immediate action to make sure every customer is treated fairly.

  • When taxiing and parking the airplane you are flying, please stay on the yellow line on the taxi-way and don't 'spin' the plane for parking.  This is to avoid possible damage to the plane and your own personal safety.  You can read an article about the damage that can be caused here.

  • After your flight, please make sure you tie down the aircraft properly and insert the gust lock in the yoke.  If a sudden gust of wind comes up, the airplane could be flipped over and have to go into repair.  You can see how to tie-down your aircraft here.

  • After your flight, make sure you lock up the airplane.  Someone could get into the airplane, take equipment or even damage the aircraft.  You can see an article about this here.

  • If you find anything wrong with an airplane that you are going to be flying that you do not feel comfortable with, please call the front office immediately.  Airplanes, when used as much as ours are used, can break down, just like anything else.  Don't be discouraged, we will get you into another airplane or adjust the one you are concerned about.

  • Follow the Federal Aviation Administration's regulations and rules.  Why?  People have been killed for simple infractions of those rules.  If you do not follow them, you could loose your ability to fly or even worse, your life.  For an example of this, please click here.

  • When landing your airplane, be sure you don't have your feet on the brakes.  By doing this, you can cause the plane to have a flat tire which will create expense for the airplane's owner and inconvenience for the next customer or student who will using the airplane.  For more details, click here.

  • If you are an international student, and want to purchase a car, please contact the office and talk to Bill or Blanche on the best way to get setup for a car in the United States.  You will need to get insurance and register the car before you can drive it, and we can help you get all setup for that.  We're here to help.
