Ahart Aviation Services - Serving the Livermore Valley

May, 2009 Newsletter

Message from the Owner

April was a mixed bag of great and bad weather and some aviation incidents.  Ahart customers are flying and we at Ahart are busy servicing

An airplane in Arizona was involved in a no-injury accident with a tail number very close to one of Ahart's aircraft:  N6286M.  The airplane that had the accident was N6285M.  Luckily no injuries.  A video can be found here and a newspaper article found here.

Another incident that occurred involved one of Ahart's instructors - Casey Topalian - who was injured when landing at Pine Mountain Lake.  The owner of the aircraft was being given a flight review by Casey when something happened with the airplane's throttle during a go-around maneuver.  Both Casey and the Pilot did what they needed to do to avoid damaging any homes near the runway.  Casey was injured and is at home healing up getting ready to fly again!  The FAA and NTSB has also exonerated Casey of any fault in the flight - Good for you Casey (and not surprising)!

Flying is an extremely fun and satisfying activity but we need to continue taking it seriously and keeping our skills current.  Ahart is committed to well maintained aircraft and highly trained and safety conscious flight instructors.

Safe and Happy Flying to you all!
Bill Komanetsky
