Ahart Aviation Booking Policy

To make sure flying is safe, fun an efficient for all of our customers, Ahart Aviation has the following aircraft and flight instructor booking policies for our commercial pilot program students.

  • You are only allowed to schedule one flight, per day per model of aircraft
  • If you schedule an airplane for a flight, and on the day of your flight you find that the same airplane or any other airplane is available for another flight, you are more than welcome to fly that airplane on that day.  We will allow you to schedule through our dispatch team when these opportunities present themselves.
  • If you would like to fly 2 hours with your instructor, then do 2 hours of ground lessons with your instructor (or just 1 hour), that is just fine.  Make sure you reserve only 2 hours in the airplane (with or without your instructor), and then time for the ground lesson (without the airplane) with your instructor as a separate reservation.  This way you will be able to study with us longer than just 2 hours a day.
  • Flights, for students, are to be scheduled for no longer than 2 hours.  If the student will be doing a cross country flight for a certification, they can book longer times, but they need to put their plans in the comments section of the reservation.  You need to specify where you will be going, not just type 'x-c' or the like.
  • Time building and solo flights should be kept below 3 hours.  Since everyone is 'in a hurry' to finish, no one's schedule is more important than anyone else's.  To keep everyone happy and flying, a 2 hour flight is more than reasonable.  If you fly 4 times a week, 2 hours a day, you will obtain 250 hours (enough for a commercial license) in about 31 weeks.  That is well under the normal 1-year time frame it usually takes to get a commercial pilot's license.
  • If you will be renting an airplane for a weekend or multiple days, you may be asked to justify the trip, especially in aircraft that are used quite a bit at Ahart (Cessna 152's, Warriors, Arrows).  We have Cessna 172's and 182's that do not fly as often which can be used for these trips.  Please try and use these aircraft for long or multi-day flights.

To be sure everyone understands, this policy is in place to make flying both fun and 'fair' for all of our customers and students.

If you have any questions about these policies, please do not hesitate to email us: ahart@ahart.com.

Thank you.
